X2 - with the exception of loosing ALL the character of an SRX. Granted the CG is higher and a bit of the "on rails" is gone, but if you use longer radius/tie rods (I used Venture) along with Viper shocks up front, you're not only increasing susp. travel but widening things too (over 2" if I remember correctly). Along with 2-3" of sag out back, it's pretty close but agreed it isn't quite the same. Sure makes a difference with those blind holes that come from nowhere. Being the cheapskate I am, this was the most cost effective choice and after tweeking things (medium spring preload and high on the rate adj. - hey, I guess I've made it into big guy status at 230#), I've been quite happy. Again as others have mentioned, if you haven't had the original skid out, it needs service and if you fix all the OEM defects (bushings, w-arm, etc) and play with the adjustments and still aren't happy, get some shocks/springs and control rods for the skid and radius/tie rods and viper shocks/brackets and you've just made it a Viper with SRX power. |
