Thinking about this post of mine. If the engine is going to draw pretty much colder air by blocking 1,2,3 or 4 of these ports off.........the engine should be running richer because the air charge is less dense because of the cooler/colder air. I am thinking right......aren't I????????

Usually , the colder it is outside, the better the sleds run because it's leaner. Conversely, at a grass drag, sleds run rich if jets aren't changed. __________________ Dannyboy

I would get bog when im riding in deep snow and when i am carving exhaust pipe outta the snow. So i find it hard to belive that a exhaust deflector will slove the problem. I guess the frusterating thing is... if so many people have had issues with this, myself included why has yamaha not addressd it themselves. __________________ TDorns85

extremelyfastmax4 Senior Member Improved Join Date: Nov 2008 Member #: 10886 Location: stpaul My Sled: vmax4800,2010fxnytro Posts: 272	my mountain max700 tripple rolled chain case 153 track really likes the deep snow but the motor boggs out so imtaped up the vents on the front of the belly pan and up front no more problems i run with the air box attached and holtzman temp compensator so jetting is allways right so im going 2 say something 2 do with under hood air pressure and possible wet wiring on ignition. it would cut out on 1 cylinder
