1986 Yamaha Inviter

Hey all, I'm new around here. I am helping a friend restore a 1986 Yamaha Inviter and his electric starter is missing. Anyone know if a starter from another Yami sled would work? Exciter? Ovation? I don't want to disassemble my Ovation to try
Also does anyone know where I can get a service manual for this machine?

looks like it is a unique starter witch is weird for a yamaha. in a quick search i found they are obselete from dealer and there is no aftermarket listing for that specific sled in my favorite aftermarket parts store book. the most popular starter for the old twin sleds is listed as 11-190742 but the nose cone doesn't look the same as the fiche for the inviter. wish i could help more.

That does help some. It helps me not waist time looking at other machines. I need an Inviter starter. Thanks!
